Adult Therapy

Individual counseling can help you work find ways to approach the challenges you may be experiencing. Maybe you are feeling anxious, or maybe you are looking for help moving beyond a painful experience. Perhaps you do not necessarily have a mental health concern, but you simply want more self-awareness for personal growth. Therapy provides a safe and supportive environment for you to explore your thoughts, habits, and feelings so you can feel in control of your life.

I also specialize in working with people who are burned out at work or in graduate school, and are looking to realign with their goals and values. The most common pattern I see in my practice when it comes to workplace burnout is that my clients know on an intuitive level that they are physically and emotionally exhausted, but they feel shameful and worried that something is wrong with them because they “can’t handle” work stressors the way they used to. You are NOT a failure if you’re feeling burned out. Let me reiterate that: you have done nothing wrong and have not failed if you feel like you’ve reached your mental and emotional limit at work. The reason we have such strong emotional experiences to the situations in our lives is because out bodies are providing us crucial information. Learning to listen to these feelings is critical in healing from burnout. I will work with you to develop insight about your needs so that you can focus on taking care of yourself, setting boundaries, and connecting with the people and activities that make you feel alive.
