Maybe you’ve questioned your own emotions and wondered if something is wrong with you because it doesn’t seem like other people see the world the same way you do. You often feel a sense of frustration toward yourself and get embarrassed about “overreacting” or “caring too much” about things other people don’t seem to have the same reactions to.

On the other hand, you have the gift of really caring about the things that matter to you, and they bring a profound sense of meaning and beauty to your life.

I'm here to help you understand your mind-body connection more clearly so that you can use your sensitivity to your advantage. You might not realize that being highly observant and aware of your feelings gives you a head start in understanding what you need.

How does the Mind-Body Connection fit into therapy?

You’ve probably heard that the body knows before the mind does, but what does that mean? I will show you how to connect your mind and body through talk therapy and mindfulness based somatic practices to actually see meaningful changes, and I will help you get unstuck and feeling in control of your life. You have tried to live your life to make others comfortable around you, but it is time to make room for change. I want you to make choices deliberately, I want you to trust yourself, and I want you to end the cycle of of self-criticism.

You might experience racing thoughts, interrupted sleep, and feeling unsettled without understanding why. The clinical terms for these symptoms are stress, anxiety and chronic worrying. I think of it as not knowing how to trust the messages your body is sending you, therefore diminishing your inner knowing. You know when something is wrong, but you’ve been conditioned not to listen to that feeling. No one has had an answer for you because you already have it.


Specialties and Approaches

Mindfulness for Anxiety and Burnout

Being mindful does not mean you need to be zen all the time, but by building present-moment awareness and non-judgmental acceptance of your thoughts, feelings, and bodily sensations, you can learn to respond to stressors in a more skillful and resilient way. Mindfulness-based approaches have been shown to be highly effective in treating anxiety and burnout, as they help you develop a greater sense of control over your thoughts and emotions. Through regular mindfulness practice, you can also improve your ability to focus, regulate your emotions, and cultivate a greater sense of well-being.

Somatic Therapy

You’re intrigued by the idea that certain parts of your body store certain memories, like grief in your lungs and trauma in your hips. You might feel like processing these things is not accessible to you, but this is actually most of the work I do. Many women don’t suspect that chronic fatigue, GI upset, and gut health all impact your state of mind, and that your state of mind impacts the ways your body functions. This is where somatic therapy starts.
